How the estimate is built
- Production is priced per video from a benchmark range for your experience level, adjusted for length and quantity.
- Usage rights, whitelisting, raw footage and rush are added as percentages of production.
- Concept work is a flat add-on. Extra hooks and revisions use our conservative heuristics.
- Exclusivity is flagged, never auto-priced.
Follower count is not an input, because UGC production is not influencer distribution. Full methodology and sources.
UGC pricing FAQ
How much should I charge for a UGC video?
It depends mostly on your experience, the deliverables and the usage rights. Current benchmarks put starter creators at roughly $50–$150 per short video, established creators at $150–$350, and experienced or premium creators at $350–$500+. Add-ons such as usage rights, raw footage and rush delivery are priced on top.
What are UGC usage rights and how are they priced?
Usage rights let a brand run your content in paid advertising rather than only on its organic channels. A common approach is a percentage of the production fee for a defined term, roughly 20–50% in current guidance, rising with longer terms. Perpetual usage is usually priced far higher or declined.
How are whitelisting and Spark Ads rates different from usage rights?
Whitelisting (also called Spark Ads on TikTok or Partnership Ads on Meta) lets the brand run ads from your own handle. Because it uses your name and audience trust, it is priced separately from ordinary paid usage, often as a monthly fee. This calculator estimates it at 30–50% of production per month, which you should treat as an estimate to adjust.
Does my follower count change my UGC rate?
Not for ordinary UGC production. UGC is content the brand uses on its own channels, so the value is in the content, not your reach. Follower count becomes relevant when you are also paid to post to your own audience, which is influencer work and priced differently.
Why does the calculator show a range instead of one number?
Because there is no single correct rate. Benchmarks vary by source, niche, brand and negotiation. A range gives you a defensible floor and a credible ceiling to quote from. Pick the point in the range that matches your portfolio and the client.
Should I charge extra for exclusivity?
Usually yes, but the right amount depends on the category, how long the exclusivity lasts and how broad it is. That is why the calculator flags exclusivity rather than adding a fixed fee. Negotiate it separately.
What is a UGC rate card?
A rate card is a short, client-ready document listing your packages, add-ons and usage terms with prices. Brands ask for it early, so having one ready speeds up deals. A rate card generator built on this calculator is planned next.
